What are Wall Lights?
A wall light is a type of light fixed to the wall. It uses the wall for support. Wall lights serve two purposes- one, to illuminate the space and second, to add to the decor of the room. Wall lights have become popular in recent years because they can be used anywhere in your house. They can be used as directional light or can emit substantial light to brighten up a bigger space. Are Wall Lights Better Than Regular Bulbs?
Wall light can be considered better than a regular bulb as connecting a regular bulb to a wall socket does not provide a visual appeal. Whereas, wall lights come with wall brackets to hold the bulb/candle or group of bulbs/candles. This type of design gives the wall lights elegance and sophistication. The wall brackets of the wall lights are designed to provide direct and/ or indirect lighting. Thus depending on the design of the wall bracket, a wall light has more utility that a regular bulb.
Can you replace any bulb with Wall Lights?
Wall lights come with mounting hardware to install light. Though one does not need rewiring for installation of wall lights, but a person with electrical experience is required to mount the wall lights. Thus one cannot simply replace a bulb with wall lights as the base/ holder of the bulb has to be changed for a wall light to be mounted.
What Should Be Considered When Choosing Wall Lights?
When choosing wall Lights one should consider the following points:
Type of lighting: choose how you want to brighten your space, do you want direct or indirect lighting, and do you want the light to bean upwards or downwards. One also needs to check if only one wall mounted fixture is needed or a group of wall mounted lightings in needed.
Size and Style: One needs to see if the wall mounted fixture is being used along with other lighting or separately. Depending on this decision one may choose from a variety of types of wall lights available in the market.
Placement: One needs to keep in mind the space that is to be illuminated or decorated and light fixture should be bought keeping this in mind. Because the placement of the fixture will decide the size and shape of the fixture.
IP Rating: When choosing wall lights, the IP rating is crucial to ensure proper protection based on the environment. IP20-rated fixtures are suitable for dry, indoor areas, offering protection against solid objects. For damp or outdoor spaces, IP44-rated fixtures are recommended, as they provide resistance to moisture and dust.

What are Wall Lights Colours?
The light emitted from a Wall Light depends on the bulb used. If incandescent bulbs are used they will give out a warm yellowish light. CFLs give a natural white light. On the other hand if LEDs are used then that opens an array of light colours to choose from.
