What are dome wall lights?

Dome wall lights are a type of light fitting that attach to the wall and cast light either upwards, downwards or both. They’re usually partially or fully enclosed in a glass or metal dome - hence the name - and there are various styles to choose from.

You can use dome wall lights in all sorts of places around the home - hallways, living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms. Some dome wall lights can also be used outdoors, depending on their IP rating. Just bear in mind that outside lights need to be weatherproof.

What kind of bulb does a dome wall light use?

Most dome wall lights have either an E27 Edison screw fitting or a G9 fitting, which are two of the most common types of bulb fitting. E27 is the larger of the two and G9 is relatively small. You can find LED bulbs for both.
