    What is an IP20 downlight?

    IP stands for Ingress Protection and the ‘20’ rating refers to its level of protection against solids and liquids. An IP20 downlight is protected against solid objects larger than 12.5mm but isn’t protected against liquids. This means they are generally suitable for indoor use, such as in bedrooms, hallways, or living rooms where there is no risk of water coming into contact with the fitting. If you’re unsure about selecting the best IP rating always speak to a qualified electrician.

    What are the different types of downlights?

    Downlights come in fixed or adjustable varieties and there are various styles to choose from, including recessed, surface-mounted and spotlights. Recessed downlights are fitted into a ceiling, whereas surface-mounted ones are attached to the surface. Spotlights are also a popular choice when directional lighting is required.

    Are downlights energy efficient?
